In mid March, British singer/songwriter Katy B debuted her album in the UK, On a Mission. Katy is most commonly known for her collaborations with dubstep artist, Benga. Breaking through the age of auto tune, On a Mission not only showcases Katy B’s impeccable song writing abilities, but also her raw vocal talent.  In pop diva tradition, Katy takes the most fresh underground sounds and turns them into catchy club hits.  On a Mission has not been released in the US but will be soon.

Record Store Day – Tomorrow, 4/16

This is your final reminder: tomorrow is International Record Store Day. Fabricated to boost sales of independent record shops four years ago, this crate-digger’s holiday is becoming larger than life. There are so many exclusive Record Store Day releases that it’s hard to keep track – especially on vinyl, which is particularly sacred on Record Store Day. All that matters is that tomorrow, April 16th, you show your support at your local record store (Bring Money!) And gather ’round turntables and share stories, the way old people used to do.

Jessie J’s New Release: Who You Are + “Nobody’s Perfect (Netsky Remix)”

Jessie J‘s album Who You Are was released on Universal Republic this week, and unsurprisingly it rose to the top of the charts. You may already know that we jumped on the Jessie wagon early and we’re proud; see The Boombox Series Part 1 – “Who You Are” and Part 2 – “Price Tag”. A few days after we shot The Boombox Series with Arcade 44, her video for “Do It Like A Dude” came out and she blew up. By popular demand, her release date was moved up to this week. Stomp stomp she arrived!
