Our friend and one of the hardest working men in hip-hop today released his People Hear What They See album. Drawing inspiration from sitting and observing outside environments, Oddisee endeavored to break the stereotypical emcee mold and write about things outside of his own personal reality.
You can't help but respect Oddisee's thoughtfulness and focus on creativity. And beyond subject matter, this album sees a refreshing evolution in the producer/emcee's sound, guiding the listener across brilliant tapestry of melodic hip-hop.
Above, the smooth toned Olivier Daysoul sits down with Oddisee for a soulful acoustic of "You Know Who You Are," a bonus track on the album.

In preparing for his upcoming album, People Hear What They See, Oddisee decided to give the internets something a little extra special this time. Herein is a remix of Marvin Gaye's "Ain't That Peculiar," which also includes a new verse by our man himself.
The remix is part of an EP called Odd Renditions, which includes similar reworks of songs by K-Os, Bon Iver, and Metronomy - look out for that to drop for free next week. Loving this so much!
The video collage above shows of footage of Marvin performing the original track. And did we mention that it's synchronized to this new version? Ohhhh, yeah!

Unfair is this preview for this new Eric Lau and Oddisee track, "What I'd Rather." About twelve seconds in, we already knew that we needed to have it all. The mellow tune eases you in with its muffled piano and Oddisee's effortless flow that caresses and slaps you in the breath - how rude/awesome.
"What I'd Rather" will be available on April 21!
