Video: Wild Belle – “Backslider”

Groovy new group Wild Belle releases a third track from their upcoming 2012 album, Isles. Won’t lie, the retro hipster aesthetic of this video has kinda stolen our hearts. The song is called “Backslider” and has a smooth retro-pop feel with tropical tinges. Their other singles, “Keep You” and “It’s Too Late” also hold a similar tropical thread, mixed in with reggae, jazz, and soul vibes as well. You can watch those videos after the jump. Love the lead singer’s honeyish voice.

Hop over to the NY Times blog to read an interview with the band.

And now, carry on with your hip twisting and what not.

New Track: Ayah – “Live The Life”

Oh em gee, squeeeaaalll! Love love love this new track by our gal Ayah. Taking us back to that true blue 90s R&B, giving us some Zhané vibes. Listen to “Live The Life” below and then join us in the incessant repeating spree. To note, Ayah recorded this back in 2007 but seemingly felt inspired to dig out and share something from the vaults – so awesome when artists decided to do that!

The Red Hot Organization is known for two (very important) things: 1/ having impeccable musical taste; and 2/ the ability to channel that taste into projects that successfully raise some serious money to combat HIV/AIDES. Compilations like Dark Was The Night (2009), and Red Hot & Riot (2002), all the way back to the first Red Hot + Rio (1996) have successfully raised over a million dollars and featured star studded line-ups that reminds one of the Grammys.
