Tonight, if you are out and about in San Francisco make your way down to the Velvet Room at Clift for a very special performance by soulsters Fitz and The Tantrums, with DJ Smash on the 1s and 2s. Entrance is free with your RSVP and there will be SVEDKA Vodka specials all night long. Doors open at 8pm and you must be 21+ with a valid ID.

On Tuesday, October 19th, get ready to experience New Zealand’s finest musical talents brought to you from across the oceans, and placed in the lap of New York City at (Le) Poisson Rouge. Showcasing Zowie, Street Chant, Kids Of 88, Electric Wire Hustle, Ruby Frost and Lawrence Arabia, New Zealand comes prepared and to ready to school you on all they have to offer (besides a killer Rugby team).
Just in case all that wasn’t enough, complimentary 42BELOW cocktails will be served all night (or until we run out). Entrance is free, but strictly RSVP only (also free w/ a CMJ badge), and granted on a ‘first come, first served basis’ so make sure you get there early as last year’s installment drew out over 1,000 fans. Doors open at 5:45pm and show starts at 6:00pm sharp.

Giant Step is hosting the New Year’s Eve party you don’t want to miss in Miami. We are back after last year’s epic celebration, which included performances from The Roots, Janelle Monáe and DJ Bobbito. This year, Giant Step brings in 2010 with a bang with Common and Rye Rye.
Common will be performing live in The Florida Room, which only holds 200 people. It’s going to be like having this Grammy Award-winning artist play with his killer live band in your living room, with all your friends in it. Open bar from 10 PM – 1 AM.
Outside by the pool, we will have Rye Rye ringing in the next decade. The Baltimore native and protégé of M.I.A. is one of the artists we’re tipping for success next year.
