This weekend was buzzing all this weekend with exclamatory remarks and photographs of the awesomeness that was the 2012 Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn. We’ve got clips from a couple of the most anticipated and dynamic performances from the weekend. Above, is an energy filled medley by the indomitable Erykah Badu, which includes a special guest appearance from Yasiin Bey (Mos Def). And below is the dynamic miss Janelle Monae breathing life into all with her live performance of “Sincerely Jane.” Oh, and it starts off with a nice little introduction from Pharrell, accented by a crowd of females screaming maniacally.

The fun electronic album is easily pop worthy with production from producers like Pharrell and Bangladesh as well as guest appearances from Akon, Robyn, and M.I.A. Below, sample the album and after the jump watch the electrifying video game themed video for “Boom Boom” – we promise that removing your eyes from the screen will not be easily achieved.

If you haven’t heard of this guy yet, please get on it speedily. Steven A. Clark is an electro-soul vocalist with what seems like the perfect picking of pop sensibility, sometimes reminding us of Pharrell, other times of The Weeknd, yet still having created a blend of sounds that is new.
Earlier this year, he dropped a free EP called Stripes on Bandcamp and it goes, people – instantly repeat worthy. Above, we are happy to host the official premiere for “Angel of Death” off the project. The dark, dim-lit video serves up a creepy tale to the deceptive yet charming track.
