New Track: Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble – “Pretend” (Soul Clap Remix)

The spooky-cool Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble is undeniably mesmerizing on their “Pretend” single and video from their latest work, Mr. Machine. Now prepare for a little more.

An interesting remix of “Pretend” has now taken form and is being called the Soul Clap Remix. The signature understated orchestral sound of the trio is colored with a house-y dance groove. You’re not quite sure what’s going on in the beginning but as the track settles, we find that it actually works. Here’s to a belated haunted house party, perhaps? We’re just saying, you have the choice and all since it’s a free download.

Germany’s Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble will be releasing their debut album, Mr. Machine, next week as they also embark on a supporting North American tour. Today, the band premieres their gorgeously shot food fight video called “Pretend,” which is a reinterpretation an Emika song. The lovely guys are also throwing in a free download of the track that you can find below.

Be prepared to get blown away on next week’s release, which features a full 10-piece ensemble “fusing minimal techno with classical instrumentation.” Instruments include: violin, cello, harp, piano, trombone, tuba, timpani, marimba, vibraphone, drum set, various percussion and a Moog synthesizer. Amazing.
