Female android of the future, Janelle Monáe is now supporting Erykah Badu at her beach show at Governors Island on August 4th. Check out the video below from her performance at Hudson's Private Park for a quick refresher on just how awe-inspiring her performance is.
In true Giant Step style, alien princess Janelle Monáe gave an unforgettable performance to celebrate the opening of Hudson Hotel's Private Park with Charity Water. In her girl-android persona, she was convincing yet funky in songs like "Many Moons," and her frantic energy was infectious. Later she slowed the vibe down when she sang "Smile," showing off her stunning vocal skills. With the crowd beckoning for more, she closed her set with what has become Janelle's rock star signature finale: crowd surfing into a sea of fans.
Hosted by Hudson, Giant Step, and Charity Water, the event raised enough money in donations to build a Hudson Well and provide more than 225 people with clean water.
We are pleased to present the Grammy-nominated singer Janelle Monáe with music provided by DJ Ge-ology at the opening of Hudson's Private Park on Tuesday, May 12th. If you haven't seen Janelle live yet, there's a reason why she was nominated for "Best Urban Performance" - she's been known to climb trees, crowd surf and dive into pools!
Space for this intimate performance is extremely limited. Please RSVP here and remember to arrive early.
A $20 donation is required at the door. 100% of the proceeds will directly fund the building of a fresh water well.
