New Tracks: Selah Sue – “Break” & “On The Run”

With Selah Sue’s debut US release just around the corner, EarMilk has premiered a couple new tracks that are exclusive to the stateside album version. “Break” is a somber ballad driven by a simple guitar, piano, and bass combination while “On The Run” is a harder hitting, bassier track with a bit of a rockish feel. Stream both on EarMilk.

Another track called “Fade Away” will be yet a third US exclusive to the album, which is out next week. Look forward to Selah on tour as well as exclusive video content coming up from the Giant Step crew!

This girl is darling. Teetering on the edges of soul, hip-hop, electronic, and reggae, Belgian singer Selah Sue has got one of those distinct cooing voices reminiscent of Nneka. Watch her most recent video above which features the track, “This World.”

Initially just another unassuming angsty teenager posting song drafts on MySpace, Selah’s music heavily resonated with a surprise internet audience and in just two short years’ time, has landed her the opportunity to work with Cee-Lo, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Prince.

Her debut self-titled album is set to come out in the US soon and features production from Farhot, who also produced for Nneka.
