Norah Jones Releases New Album Today

Check out Norah Jones‘ new video “Chasing Pirates”, off her album The Fall, released today on Blue Note Records.  Featured on Rolling Stone‘s Hot List, the lead single “Chasing Pirates” immediately announces her new direction. Entertainment Weekly wrote that “‘Chasing Pirates’ is a bluesy surprise and welcome change of pace,” adding that “Jones’ voice remains as lovely as ever.” From the swaying rock thump of “Stuck” to an intimate ballad like “Back to Manhattan,” one thing that hasn’t gone away on The Fall is the distinctiveness and expressiveness of Jones’s singing.

An exciting evolution from her previous three releases, The Fall has the feeling of an artist growing into a new phase in her creative development. Beyond the changes in the conception of her own sound, she maintains that her songwriting is at the very foundation of her new approach.

Wolfmother Remixes “New Moon Rising”

new-moon-rising_1The first single from Wolfmother‘s sophomore release Cosmic Egg, “New Moon Rising”, is a thumping, ripping slice of optimistic future-blues, complete with textbook flaming Wolfmother guitar and joyously bludgeoning drums. It’s a thrilling rush of goodtimes direct to the soul and one that’s sure to be inescapable very, very soon.

On remix duties, London’s Henry “Riton” concocts a pair of sophisticated rubs with quirky electronic melodies. Portland’s indie dance duo YACHT fix-up synth-y, mutant disco with punk-funk handclaps, and Gothenburg’s Fontän rework the single with psychedelic effects and stylings.
