Congratulations, 2012 Grammy Award Winners!

Sending lots of good vibes and congratulations to all the Grammy nominees and winners this year! We are happy to have had several artists we worked with in 2011 nominated and even a couple winners!

Big congrats to Corrine Bailey Rae, who won Best R&B Performance for “Is This Love” from The Love EP. Such a beautiful tune by an equally stunning lady.

Also very nice to see that the late Amy Winehouse won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her “Body And Soul” duet with Tony Bennett.

The star of the night, without much surprise, was the enormously talented miss Adele. She managed to snag a win for every category for which she was nominated! Oh, and did we mention she is also the cover girl for the March issue of Vogue? Get em, girl.

Just for emphasis, these are all the different ways in which Adele owned:

Video: Amp Live – “Differ.e.n.t.”

We had to share this. Bay Area’s own Amp Live (of Zion I) has put out a fanciful 6-track EP called You Are Not Human (The Love EP). The producer takes the listener through a glitchy fusion of hip hop, electronic, and jazz.

The video above is for “Differ.e.n.t.” and it is as stunning as the refreshingly mystical track itself. Amp’s daydream shows a flowy ballerina swirling and dancing on a seemingly endless expanse of land during sunset. The movement of her hair and her garments coupled with the impeccable framing, play with light, and use of slow motion all make for a dazzling reverie and a disarming energy.

Corinne Bailey Rae Returns With The Love EP (Out Now), Covers Bob Marley, Prince and More

Grammy-winning artist Corinne Bailey Rae returns with The Love EP (out now), a five-song collection of covers that she calls an “homage to some of my favorite musicians, as well as a conversation between some of my musical influences.”

The EP opens with a cover of Prince’s “I Wanna Be Your Lover,” followed by “Low Red Moon,” written by former Throwing Muses/Breeders singer Tanya Donelly for her band Belly. Bailey Rae also crafts unique takes on the 1978 Bob Marley classic “Is This Love” and “My Love,” a No. 1 hit by Paul McCartney & Wings. The EP closes with a live version of “Que Sera, Sera” (popularized by Doris Day and Sly Stone) — a song that Bailey Rae and her band have been closing shows with on her recent tour (check out the live video after the jump).

Corinne has recently been nominated for an NAACP Image Award for outstanding female artist alongside Mary J., Rihanna, Sade and Chrisette Michele. The awards will be given on March 4th.
