Yesterday Central Park was glowing with piles of beautiful people of all ages. It wouldn’t be a true Giant Step produced SummerStage without the most adorable of children scurrying around and an eclectic bunch of young folks sprawled out soaking up the sun and an AsiaDog or three.

Hiatus Kaiyote, Jose James, and Shuggie Otis all put on brilliant performances leaving an ever attentive crowd cheering for more over and over. And DJ OP! held it down all day to many, many happy ears. Amongst the crowd were Salaam Remi, DJ Spinna, Jesse Boykins III, and TK Wonder. Check the day in photos below!

Video: Shadow Child & Horx – “Border Town” ft. TK Wonder

Our longtime friend TK Wonder teams up with Shadow Child & Horx for the space-industrial tune, “Border Town.” In the new video, the alluring rapper mostly stands at attention and with minimal hand choreography puts her audience into straight hypnosis. TK’s tone and razor sharp flow completely entrance and assure that your eyes and ears are slaves to her dictation.

TK Wonder & Kissey have formed a union to create some seriously legit funky electro jams. Yes, folks, Kissey is indeed the bad mama behind the production with TK Wonder on the criminally sexy vocals.

These two heartbreakers put together might be cause for watching this video with some lab goggles – just saying. Rawr.

José James Last Blackmagic Performance – December 3

Tomorrow, December 3rd, Giant Step Presents José James; plus TK Wonder & Ben Perowsky’s Moodswing Orchestra, and DJ GE-OLOGY in a very rare Brooklyn appearance at Littlefield. According to José James this is going to be the very last performance of the Blackmagic concert series. That’s right folks, the very last one! So make sure you grab your tickets in advance to avoid long lines at the door.

“This project is very close to my heart. It’s a tribute to not only the greats like Marvin Gaye and Leon Ware, but to our contemporary giants like Flying Lotus and Benga. I’ve toured Blackmagic in 30 countries this year and worked with an amazing group of artists and producers on the album – Gilles Peterson, Flying Lotus, Moodymann, Taylor McFerrin, DJ Mitsu the Beats, Richard Spaven, and many more. From Paris to Sao Paolo, people have showed us mad love! How fitting that the final show is in New York, the place where I got my first Lotus beat labeled “Blackmagic” and opened the door to making the record. This is going to be a night to remember.” – José James
