French producer, Astrobal, drops another music video from his 2011 EP “Poetry & Science-Fiction.” The music video for the song “My Girl” is a trippy animated journey created by Ludovic Dulac.
Mika just released the video for “Celebrate”, from his forthcoming album The Origin of Love, which is due out October 16. “Celebrate” is an epic slice of cool modern pop written by Mika and produced by Nick Littlemore from Empire of the Sun and features Pharrell Williams on vocals. Completely self-created and self-imagined, The Origin of Love has been a two-year labor of love for Mika who has put together everything on the record himself – on top of writing the new album he spent most of 2010 and 2011 on a massive Global tour playing hundreds of shows to sold out audiences across Europe, Asia and North America.
Mika has also commissioned a short film to accompany one of the songs from the new album. ‘Make You Happy’ which can be seen here.
When the Flaming Lips linked up with Erykah Badu for their all-collaboration album, The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends, they recorded a cover of an old folk song by Ewan MacColl titled “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.” Most famously recorded by Roberta Flack in 1972 the new version of the song gets a video that’s about as NSFW as it could possibly be. While the various Lips flail around in super slow motion, Nayrok Badu — Erykah’s sister, who looks a whole hell of a lot like Erykah — gets extremely naked and rolls about in glitter, blood, and white goop.
Directed by George Salisbury, the video is an artistic interpretation of the first time a woman has intercourse with a man. We’d like to applaud Erykah for constantly pushing the boundaries of her abilities and by exploring new dramatic forms of artistic expression.
