Producer Jay Dee Passes Away

J Dilla, aka James Yancey, one of the greatest Hip Hop producers of
all time passed away early this morning in Los Angeles, California. J Dilla
will beremembered for his contributions for Slum Village, A Tribe Called Quest,Q-Tip, Common, Busta Rhymes and beyond.
The entire staff and associates of BBE Records would like to offer their sincere condolences to the family of James Yancey for their recent bereavement.
Peter Adarkwah, the founder of BBE Records said he was "deeply saddened by the news. Jay was one of my favorite Hip-Hop producers of all time. His passion for music was a rare thing amongst people in the music industry. His music and presence will be sorely missed."
The album he was working on, the follow up to "Welcome To Detroit," entitled "The Shining" was scheduled for a June release on BBE.
