Gearing Up For Summer Festivals

With summer time just around the corner, the smell of beer, trees and music is in the air. And you know what that means, festival time. With a handful of festivals like the Intonation Festival in Chicago or Celebrate Brooklyn in New York, one new comer that seems particular interesting is the first annual Ovrcast music and art festival to be held this June. Put on by the The Ovrcast Collective, an L.A.-based record label, promotions and marketing company, the event will feature live performances and visual art from an eclectic array of artists including James Welling, Frances Stark, Larry Johnson, Nachtmystium, DJ Swamp and Oxbow. Additionally, and the part I am most excited about, is participation of the indie-electro duo Matmos. The festival begins June 5 at Mountain Bar in L.A.’s Chinatown and will wrap up June 9 at USC’s Graduate Fine Arts campus.
