ABB Records' success stories Dilated Peoples, Little Brother, and Defari, are packing their bags and gearing up for one of the most anticipated tours since 1999's Hard Knock Life Tour. Sponsored by MTV Jams, the 26-city tour kicks off in Los Angeles, Wednesday, February 22nd at the House of Blues and will end in Anaheim, CA Friday March 31st. "A goal for ABB for some time has been to see our artists come together and tour" says ABB president Beni B. "We’re excited to finally see this happen, especially for their fans."
The MTV Jams sponsored tour is headlined by Dilated Peoples in support of their 4th album, '20/20' (Capitol) dropping February 21st, the day before their North American headlining begins. '20/20' explodes out of the speakers with some of the most forceful beats of Dilated Peoples’ career courtesy of Evidence, Babu, Alchemist, Joey Chavez, Bravo, and Prose. The album also features special guest appearances by Talib Kweli, Dr. Greenthumb, Krondon, Defari, and the dancehall/reggae don himself, Capleton. As fans will see with the upcoming tour, the group took special care to make 20/20 an exciting aural experience that would translate well to the stage.
Joining Dilated Peoples on the road is the talented North Carolina, trio Little Brother. Since the release of their sophomore album, 'The Minstrel Show' (ABB/Atlantic) in 2005, the group has received a bevy of critical acclaim from the likes of the Source (4.5 mics), Scratch Magazine (10/10), and artists such as Mos Def, Q-Tip, Bun B, and Just Blaze. Currently on a short stint with Fort Minor and Demigodz, LB is ready to bring their matchless brand of showmanship to audiences across North America.
Also joining the all-star line up is Los Angeles native and Likiwt Crew member Defari. Following last year's well received 'Likwit Junkies' album, Defari is presently in the studio working on his third album titled 'Street Music', which features production by Evidence (Dilated Peoples), Alchemist, Mike City, Babu, Superstar Quamallah, and Fredwreck and guest appearances include Dilated Peoples,B Real (Cypress Hill), and J-Ro (Alkaholiks) to name a few.
