Yes hearing remakes of this and that is getting a bit old. But this time around, when you have Buena Vista Social Club in the equation and it is them who are playing the music of their contempories versus the other way around, it is a bit more refreshing.
Due out on November 14 via Hip-O Records/Universal Music Enterprises, 'Rhythms del Mundo' finds the Buena Vista Social Club playing music of Radiohead, Coldplay, U2, The Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and more, creating brand new backing tracks for the 16 chosen songs, leaving the vocals as they were. Additionally, sales of the album will go towards the Artists Project Earth, a non-profit that aids natural disaster victims and helps raise awareness of climate change problems.
