"Buzzin' Fly has established itself with a strong sound and roster,” says label boss Ben Watt, "but there is so much other stuff out there. I first made music in the early eighties and I feel we are at a similar point with surges of fresh energy in many genres that deserve exposure." Thusly, Ben signed Danish band, the Figurines to Buzzin' Fly's new alt/indie and electronic pop sister imprint Strange Feeling Records. Why Strange Feeling? "Well, 'Buzzin' Fly' is my favorite Tim Buckley song," he says. And 'Strange Feeling' is my second favorite!”
The Figurines, described as "stark, furious, and beautiful," have already released their debut, which led to critical acclaim in the US as well as a tour of America with Tapes'n Tapes. Ben believes a UK release of their second album, Skeleton will bring them the British exposure they deserve. It will see the light of day in early March, preceded by a frenetic 7” single, "The Wonder," and a club remixes 12". (Remixers TBA). We had a strange feeling you wanted to know.
