Former San Franciscans turned New Yorkers, the Rapture have setup their own label with DJ James Friedman called Throne of Blood Records (name possibly taken from Akira Kurosawa's Macbeth-based film). Their initial intent for the imprint is to create a platform for the slew of vinyl singles and remixes compiled from their latest album Pieces of the People We Love.
The Rapture will manage the creative direction and Friedman will supervise the label’s daily affairs. In terms of distribution, they are well connected with Syntax Distribution in America and European distributors Amato and Schnauzer. Throne of Blood’s first release,"Get Myself Into It” (out November 13th) features remixes by Prince Language, Serge Santiago, and Ed Bander’s SebastiAn. They plan to upkeep the quality of remixers for future releases by recruiting "some of the most influential producers in dance music."
