As we approach the one year anniversary of J Dilla's (R.I.P.) death, we'd like to take a moment of silence in remembrance.

And then we'd like to let you know about all of the tribute nights around the world where you can hear his works in the appropriate environment with the right people. If you missed Monday's tribute at APT (NYC) with Spinna and Waajeed of the Platinum Pied Pipers – which was a complete success despite the 10 degree weather – you can catch Pharoahe Monch throwin' it down Donuts style with DJ Akalepse, DJ Scratch, Nicole Nelch and DJ Soul among others at the Galapagos Art Space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on the date of his passing (2.10). In a few hours, a tribute will be held in Cologne, Germany at a venue called Subway. Los Angeles gets its choice of tributes this Saturday with Funky Sole hosted by Stones Throw's Egon, Miles and Cut Chemist at Star Shoes and Nightlife: J Dilla Edition with The Beat Junkies and Rakaa of Dilated Peoples at the Knitting Factory. Next week, there's one in Chicago (2.14), and one in Denver (2.16) at Milk Bar. The tribute nights don't end with these, though. And you can find out more about upcoming J Dilla events here.
