Mutya Buena (formerly of the Sugababes) has been given Amy Winehouse’s blessing at a recent music industry party to work on a track together. Buena, who left the British girl-pop group back in 2005 to raise her daughter Tahlia Maya, is now set to collaborate with Amy on a song to be released in the months to come. This is in preparation of Mutya’s premier solo release Real Girl (out in June), featuring production work by Groove Armada. The two vocalists share the same label in the UK (Island) so the duet makes business sense, but the tone and style of the song are yet to be determined – will Amy depart from her soul/jazz roots to go pop? Or will Mutya step towards Amy’s Brit Award winning sound? We are all eagerly awaiting.
