Lupe Fiasco Keeps His Cool

Lupe Fiasco entered the studio this week to commence the recording of his follow-up to Food & Liquor, The Cool (tentatively scheduled for an Oct. 31 release date on 1st & 15th / Atlantic). His original dream to collaborate with Pink Floyd on a track for the forthcoming full-length has yet to be realized; Fiasco admitted to Billboard.com at Coachella, "Nothing has developed yet. But once the stew gets swirling and people start talking, you never know." While we’re all hopeful for that pairing to come through, he’s been busy hooking up with Japanese rapper Big O on "City Wings," Musiq on "Buddy," and Kevin Michael on "We All Want The Same Thing." Lupe's also hinted at an under-wraps project with "another superstar rapper and someone who is a rapper/producer." Until his new album's finished, Fiasco's tour schedule will be limited to one show in August and September for Lollapalooza and the Bumbershoot festival, respectively.
