Jarvis Cocker Curates A Musical Meltdowon

Jarvis Cocker is in the process of putting together a week long festival of his fantasies. This is akin to the hypothetical question: which bands would you want to have play your perfect birthday party? While most will never actually experience the exact lineup they'd wished for, those who are in the UK in the middle of next month may encounter an event far greater than they could have imagined themselves.
The Meltdown festival begins with metal rockers Motorhead, entertainer Gonzales and folkstress Melanie Safka on Saturday the 16th of June. And somewhere in between the closing shows (Sat. 23rd), which include more lady folk acts (Susan Christie, Wendy Flower & Bonnie Dobson) chosen by Andy V.O.T.E.L. and a special screening of Valerie And Her Week Of Wonders, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Cornershop, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Iggy & The Stooges, Devo, Forest Of No Return (present the Vintage Disney songbook) and KPM Allstars (perform classic TV themes) will all be hunted down and gathered together to perform as “filler” acts. Pure leftfield indulgence from Mr. Cocker.
