Keyboardist Geoff Barrow, vocalist Beth Gibbons, and guitarist Adrian Utley of Portishead are staging a comeback after nearly a decade of dormancy. While each member has been active individually since their 2nd album Portishead (1997), the group performed their first gig together in years (albeit unofficially) in February to awestruck fans caught unaware. With a third album underway, the members have agreed to perform and curate a special festival by All Tomorrow’s Parties titled Nightmare Before Christmas (December 7-9 @ Butlins Holday Camp, Minehead, England).
"We have always loved the All Tomorrow's Parties set up and we're happy our first shows will be there. It's great to have the opportunity to introduce bands we love or have influenced us. We've chosen a diverse collection of artists to play with us and we're really looking forward to it," commented Portishead on their website. Details on the festival are forthcoming via atpfestival.com.
