M.I.A. Does One For The ''Boyz''

M.I.A.'s highly anticipated follow up to Arular, Kala, doesn’t come out until August 21st in the UK (XL records) and the 22nd in the US (Interscope). But as long as singles like the new "Boyz" track keep finding their way to the internet, we should be able to stave off the hunger. Co-produced by Timbaland and Bangladesh (who also thought up the diddy for Kelis' Bossy), "Boyz" deftly switches between stomping tribal drums and a Baltimore beat, making it the ideal party anthem. While the color scheme of her recent videos may be as loud as Ed Bangers' artwork, the feel remains raw, reflecting an amalgam of American Indian, African, Indian, South American, and 80’s nylon jumpsuits.
