Patti Smith Confirmed For Marc Bolan 30th Anniversary Celebration

Joe's Pub in the Park just announced the addition of very special guest Patti Smith to the Saturday, September 29th Marc Bolan (of Tyrannosaurus Rex) 30th anniversary tribute. The night celebrates 60 years since Bolan's birth and 30 years since his passing with a 90-minute concert at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park (9 PM sharp). To name a few guests that have also been confirmed: Clem Burke (Blondie/Drums), Tony Shanahan (Patti Smith/Bass), James Mastro (Ian Hunter-Patti Smith/Gtr), Jane Scarpantoni (Lou Reed/Cello), Dave Amels (Mary Weiss/Keys), Tish & Snooky (Manic Panic/Back Vox), Geoff Blythe (Dexy's-Black 47/Sax), Rob Youngberg (Honeycomb/Percussion) as well as vocalists from the New York Dolls, Television, Scissor Sisters and more. The legendary T. Rex/David Bowie/Morrisey producer Tony Visconti will be the night's guest of honor.

The night will also pay homage to Scott Walker and David Driver.
