50th Grammy Awards Nominees Announced

Posted by Jay Yee, Dec 06, 02:49 PM EST

This morning nominations for the 50th Grammy Awards were announced. Kanye West leads the pack with 8, followed by Amy Winehouse with 6.

Feist drew 4; Justice garnered a mighty 3; Joni Mitchell's "One Week Last Summer" is up for Best Pop Instrumental Performance; The Chemical Brothers are nominated for Best Electronic/Dance Act and Best Dance Recording for "Do It Again;" Bjork and Lily Allen will battle for Best Alternative Music Album; Jill Scott, Chrisette Michele and Alicia Keys are nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Raheem DeVaughan, Angie Stone, Dwele, Alice Smith, and Meshell Ndegeocello also received Grammy nods.

Of note, Kanye's Graduation and Amy Winehouse's Back to Black will go head to head for the Album of the Year. Feist, Ledisi, Paramore, Taylor Swift and Amy vie for best new artist, and the category Best Song of the Year includes Corinne Bailey Rae's “Like A Star” and Winehouse's “Rehab.” We'll just have to sit tight and await the winners until they are announced Feb. 10th, 2008.
