Jazz Producer Joel Dorn Dies of A Heart Attack

Jazz producer and father to Adam Dorn AKA Mocean Worker, Joel Dorn died of a heart attack on Monday, December 17th. Responsible for the jazz output of Atlantic Records from 1967 to 1974, Joel went on to produce and popularize the careers of Max Roach, Herbie Mann, Les McCann and Eddie Harris, Mose Allison, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Bette Midler, Leon Redbone, Lou Rawls, the Neville Brothers and Roberta Flack, winning back to back Grammy awards in 1972 and 1973. Based in New York with three sons, Dorn was 65.
