While producer Dan The Automator was set to release his solo debut titled 'Omakase' in 2004, that was to feature everyone from Busta Rhymes and Damon Albarn to Mos Def and Beck, it looks like a release date is still indefinite. Almost 5 years since Brooklyn duo Cibo Matto broke up, after only releasing two albums, vocalist Miho Hatori is set to release her first full-length solo album on October 24 via Rykodisc. Titled 'Ecdysis,' it is said to be a mix of dance-pop, world music, psychedelia, jazz fusion and piano balladry. Just one of a myraid number of festivals that have or are still set to occur this year, tickets go on sale tomorrow for the Bang! Music Festival in Miami's Bicentennial Park. Set to take place on November 11th, the line-up includs Duran Duran, Daft Punk, Kinky, George Acosta, Christopher Lawrence, Markus Schulz, DJ Icey, Gnarls Barkley, Tiesto, Modest Mouse, Roger Sanchez, Los Amigos Invisibles and more.

Their first new material in nine years, two tracks, "Greek Jam" and "Key Bored 299 03" are now streaming on Portishead's Myspace page . While neither of these songs feature Beth Gibbons vocals, they give the public a taste of what is to come, on their long overdue follow-up to 1997's self-titled sophomore album. In the meantime, Beth Gibbon's solo album, 'Out of Season' is always worth a listen to scratch that Portishead itch.
