Following up to their infectiously popular Echoes from 2003, The Rapture will release 'Pieces of the People We Love' September 12 in the US on Universal Motown. His first album since 2004's 'The New Danger,' Brooklyn based rapper/actor Mos Def will release 'True Magic' on October 17th that will include new tracks, "The Undeniable" and "There Is a Way." Additionally, like many artists these days who dabble in fashion, yesterday, Mos Def released his own Converse shoe called the Chuck Taylor All Star Music, that has a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline etched on the shoe. From Beck, Bloc Party, to the Easy Star All-Stars, remix albums appear to be the new black. With digital release dates differing from physical release dates these days, it can be hard to keep up on when you can officially purchase the music. At least that is what happened with the much anticipated debut album from Alice Smith, 'For Lovers, Dreamers & Me.' As pointed out by Sence in our forums , completely unaware of this, this album is now available digitally at the iTunes music store

Returning on September 26th with their sophomore album, ‘Colorblind,’ Robert Randolph & The Family Band have brought in a slew of guests to help shape this forthcoming record. Before taking the stage at London's Lovebox Festival last weekend, Jamiroquai leader, Jay Kay, confirmed the rumored speculation of an end to their relationship with Sony Records. The love/hate affair will dissolve with the delivery of a Greatest Hits album due out November 2006. Having recently toured with James Blunt in support of her debut album 'Ladyland,' which was produced by Linda Perry, Sierra Swan is set to hit the road again, but this time with a twist. Due out October 3rd, Stones Throw and Adult Swim are set to deliver 'Chrome Children.' Featuring both a CD and DVD, the CD contains music from Madvillain, J Dilla, Madlib, and many others, while the DVD features a full-length live hip hop show headlined by MF DOOM and Madlib, filmed at this year's SXSW tent. With total sales approximately 561,200, after being released 11 weeks ago, Gnarls Barkely continues to rank at the top of the Hip-Hop charts, claiming the No. 4 spot this week. Additionally, with everyone performing covers of "Crazy," Gnarls Barkley returned the favor by playing The Doors' "Who Scared You" at the Avalon in LA. Also, adding to the handful of live videos of Gnarls Barkley, a new one has surfaced. This time it is a live rendition of "Who Cares."
