release description

Hot on the heels of the breakout Blaze remixes of the Café Soul All Stars' "Urban Jungle," YOU Global Entertainment flips the script with the Alma Tropical EP. The seminal original production of Anthony Nicholson recording under his Miquifaye moniker serves the floor with lush mixes of "Body Music." We start off with The Main Mix that features a driving four-to-the-floor thumbing beat and an organic production on top. Anthony's signature Ambient Body Reprise give the downtempo and chill groove their just do, while the Body Drumz is more beat infused.

Alma Tropical hits the next level with a treatment from Duke Jones, band leader & producer of the Café Soul All Stars. Duke takes you south of the border to Rio de Janeiro to record the CSA Re-rub featuring an upbeat and funky Latin vibe with the one and only Roy Ayers on vibraphone, Bobby “The Genius” Lyle tickling the ivory, Armando Marcal on percussion, and introducing Brazilian female ingénue Mariana Rangel who delivers a fresh lyrical approach.

Also featured is a bonus track from the Café Soul All Stars featuring Roy Ayers & Pucho and the Latin Soul Brothers entitled "Pier 69," which is featured on the debut release of the Cafe Soul All Stars' Love Pages. The Café Soul All Stars is Clarence O. Smith (co-founder of Essence Magazine), producer Duke Jones and the legendary Norman Connors. With a nod to jazz and R&B, their first album Love Pages featured a riveting collection of songs of radio friendly, soulful R&B jams and guest vocals courtesy of Glenn Jones, Christopher Williams, Peabo Bryson and George Benson. This EP 12-inch will get you up in dancing in celebration of the arrival of the Café Soul All Stars and their new musical cocktail.
