release description

Small Arms Fiya are producers Scott "Monkz" Moncrieff and Tom "Toddla" Bell from Sheffield, they've already been busy making inroads into the remix circuit, mixing Jersey Street, Swag, Mark Rae, Lo Tek Hi Fi feat Roots Manuva and Sandra Melody amongst others and receiving props from the likes of Benji B and the una bombers.

This EP shows their talent for producing not only house tempo dancefloor bombs ("So Easy") but also Detroit influenced off kilter tracks ("All Over") and proper soul songs ("Be Myself"). There's nothing contrived about this EP, Small arms were lucky enough to grow up on a diet of hip hop, soul, house, disco, dancehall and broken beat! And that is reflected in their work, proving they can turn their hand to almost anything!

Vocalist Pete Simpson is a member of Joey Negro's sunburst band. As well as touring the world as part of the electric souls soundsystem and recording with elektrons he has also worked with Mark Rae and Jon Cutler, his live performances have to be seen to be believed as anyone at 2005's Southport weekender will tell you. On this EP Pete showcases his diverse vocal and songwriting ability.
