Legendary Chicago house producer Ron Trent has lent his golden touch to N'Dambi's hypnotic soul-diva vocals on "Can’t Change Me," resulting in this classically soulful house remix. Texan soul-queen N'Dambi is now three albums deep, having risen from the ranks of being Erykah Badu's backing singer to gaining a loyal audience and widespread deeply approving press reviews, evoking comparisons with Chaka Khan and the innovation of D'Angelo.
Now Ron Trent has elevated this beautiful song into a dancefloor classic, with support form djs as diverse as Gilles Peterson, (Radio 1), Chris Philips, (Choice FM), Alex Attias, Alex From Tokyo, Benji B, DJ Deep and Rainer Truby. It was a heavy favourite at the 2007 Winter Music Conference down in Miami. This remix of "Can’t Change Me" is the first single from Ron Trent's forthcoming album ElectroFunkJazz Pt 2: Renditions & Transitions, which features Ron Trent mixes of Goapele, Spacek, Jody Watley, Rene Neufville, (Zhane) plus many more. Ron Trent's inimitable mixes are a direct continuation of the soul tradition he grew up in, viewing house music as soul music for the contemporary dancefloor. The album is due for release summer 2007.
