release description

Peekaboo Theory has been creating a buzz in the Houston and surrounding area music scene since their formation in February 2006. Vocalist James Cayn, Guitarist Ramon, and Turntablist F.Y.I.A.A.M first met at Guitar Center in Houston, Texas. All three then working on a project with "The Knux" the three then branched away from that project and added Tony and K-Wala to the trio, whom had both worked on previous projects with Cayn and Ramon. Soon would come the addition of Kid Twist, a local drummer from Harlem New York and the band was on its way to creating their own style of garage hop music which is heavily influenced by musical elements of rock, electronica, reggae and hip hop.

The six band members of Peekaboo Theory may all claim bragging rights in the creation and production of their project. In October 2006 the band released their first E.P entitled Red Stars and are currently recording their freshman album at Sugar Hill Recording Studio in Houston, Texas. When not spending time recording their album, the band focuses on building fan base at various live music venues in Houston and surrounding areas, as well as music festivals across the country. Most recently they participated in the Official Showcase at South by Southwest in Austin Texas. The have also been chosen as one of a handful of bands to perform at Hyperfest in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

When asked, the six members of Peekaboo Theory would proclaim that their musical influences range from Prince, to Radiohead and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, to hip hop artist such as The Wu Tang clan. It is most likely this diversity of influences that allows their garage hop sound and thought provoking lyrics to appeal to a variety of music lovers.
