release description

Genrebending British starlet Lily Allen’s hit song “LDN” receives hi-grade remix treatment from the likes of Ashley Beedle and South Rakkas Crew.

Recognized across the boards as an artist to watch, Lily Allen stormed America at the beginning of 2007 with her debut album Alright, Still. The musically diverse record (produced in part by Mark Ronson), which had already topped the U.K. charts, drew a tidal wave of attention from some of the most highly-respected music magazines, blogs, newspapers and mainstream media outlets in the US. A favorite of The New York Times, Vibe, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Spin and the Los Angeles Times, Lily ranked #1 on Blender’s list of “25 Reasons to Love ’07” and #1 in URB’s Future Music issue. Dubbed "the queen of myspace,” Allen’s music quickly became ubiquitous.

This DJ promo features two official remixes of Lily’s infectious reggae-tinged hit song “LDN.” One of the hottest and most in-demand Dancehall production crews, Florida-based South Rakkas Crew (creators of the infamous “Clappas Riddim” among others), takes the track in a whole new direction with their aptly-titled “Crack Whore Riddim” remix. Growling bass and thickly-chopped beats augment Lily’s sweet vocal stylings, while deafening siren blasts and sound effects guarantee a massive impact in the club. Keeping things a bit more melodic, iconic U.K. producer Ashley Beedle infuses mellow dub flavors into his “Warbox” remix (also the name of Beedle’s new Urban/Reggae record label). With an extended intro for easy mixing and clean production that pairs perfectly with the vocals, this remix puts the original version of “LDN” to the test. Also supplying you with the “Warbox Original Cut Dub Instrumental,” the original album version and the album instrumental, this DJ promo will truly make you not “want to be anywhere else.”
