release description

Coming from Brooklyn & New Orleans with that heavy funk & soul sound, The Pimps of Joytime are definitely the live group to look out for in 2008! Their songs are songs you sing along to, dance to, and throw a block party to! Band leader, singer, guitarist and producer Brian J comes from a strong musical background, and along with a 5 member band has advanced his sound over the past few years to create the band's own pure, original groove. They've been very busy touring in SF, LA & their hometowns New Orleans & NYC, showcasing songs that range from heavy New Orleans Funk to Latin Cumbia, Afrobeat Soul, Ballads and Blues.

Backed by a swinging percussion groove, "H20" features the vocals of the great Cyril Neville of the Neville Brothers. "Street Sounds" takes you on a soulful journey around various cities, where street musicians create the soundscape. "Bonita" is a call to all bonita's to the dancefloor. And just to surprise you, there are a few really heavy funk/ blues tunes such as "My Gold" and "Hey Mr J." The Pimps of Joytime's first album High Steppin will surely take you higher!
