release description

Heroes Of The Dancefloor's Torch is a fusion of big band and swing Jazz, mixed with Hip Hop, R&B and dub influences with deep souldful vocals. The lead single "Same Scandal" from Torch is an infectious dance track with a funky house groove. Torch follows the underground success of Momentum, the first album of a series from Heroes Of The Dancefloor, which in its entirety will benefit the homeless.

All proceeds of Torch including publishing mechanicals and royalties will go to two New York charities, 'Picture the Homeless' (www.picturethehomeless.org) and 'Coalition for the Homeless' (www.coalitionforthehomeless.org).

According to the annual report by the Coalition on Homelessness "New York has reached a new record for the number of homeless families living in our shelters. In this year alone the number of people living in homeless shelters has increased by 11% and the number of children has increased by 18% to over 14,000.

The lead single 'Same Scandal' from Torch is an infectious dance track with a funky house groove that will ensure a crowded dancefloor, bringing out all the heroes of to the dancefloor.

Torch lead vocals come from the playful and expressive chops of Manu; Gary Alesbrook, the trumpet player touring and recording with Kasabian and the Scissor Sisters; and James Morton, the sax player and keyboard player touring and recording with Pee Wee Ellis from the band of James Brown.

Mixes and remixes have come from top US DJs such as Nick Chacona and Anthony Mansfield as well as top US and UK engineers, including Adam Noble in the Strongroom, Joe Fields and Sam Dillon in Soho studios, Doug McBride in Gravity Studios in Chicago, Grammy Award winning Thom Russo in Los Angeles, and Grammy Award winning Mick Glossop in London.
