DJ Skee & The Smoking Section Present Jack Splash - King Of The Beats Volume 1
Digital Released: Jan 13, 2010 |
|||
After all the excitement of producing electro-pop dance smashes and lush, organic soul ballads for others, Jack Splash felt the pull to get back to his own music. So it was in a dream that he came up with the concept for Technology and Love Might Save Us All, both a short animated film (starring Cee-Lo Green, Janelle Monae and Lupe Fiasco) and his first solo studio album (coming Summer 2010 on J Records). With appearances by Missy Elliott, Lupe Fiasco, Kelis, R Kelly, T-Pain, Solange and many more, Jack's debut LP has the entire music scene on pins and needles.
To set the stage, Jack is releasing three mixtapes of all original compositions. Unlike the usual mixtape, each song has been carefully arranged by Jack to make "mixtapes" that are closer to albums than anything else. These are albums! The first two in the series are already earning critical acclaim for their originality. Heir to the Throne gives listeners a preview of Jack's ability to sing and rap with the best of them. Filled with pop dance beats and catchy choruses, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The second in the series, King of the Beats, takes the listener further down the rabbit hole with instrumental tracks like "Disko Labyrinth" and "The Funhouse Has Mirrors." These tracks show Jack's talent at not just making a great hook, but also beautifully layered compositions. The future shines bright for Jack Splash: his masterful third mixtape, Future of The Funk, is just around the corner, and his upcoming studio debut is coming soon too, so stay on the lookout for Jack Splash!
