release description

Induce's forthcoming album, Halfway Between Me And You (out in Fall 2011) serves as a major turning point in Induce's career. Previously known for more leftfield hip hop and instrumental music, Induce, over the last 2 years, has now turned to writing and singing carefully crafted, classically structured songs.

Halfway Between Me And You is both Induce's most accessible record to date and his most musically achieved. In making the album, Induce decided to follow the blueprint of certain classic albums that have come before, such as Bobby Brown's Don't Be Cruel, or Prince's Diamonds & Pearls - to make nearly every single song single-worthy. The fat has been trimmed and what is left has become a complete work of memorable music, that was made with more emotion and feeling than much of the mainstream work heard today, while simultaneously standing beside that mainstream sensibility of what a hit is made of.

Additionally, although Induce handled much of the production himself, along with Manuvers, the appearance of 2 guest producers make it a full-on family affair. The production team known as Mr. Familiar, who have produced for Solange Knowles and 50 Cent, provide the Motown-inspired music for one of the album's most memorable songs, "Love Letter 2 U." Even more helpful is the appearance of Jack Splash (Plant Life), featured not only on the album's single "Cover Girl," but he also produced and features on the ultra-catchy "Livin' In The Future."
