Confirmed as the connoisseurs favourite, the AnotherLateNight and LateNightTales series have sold by the bucketload and received praise across the board with mixes from the likes of Groove Armada, Zero 7 and Sly & Robbie. Now as time moves on, it's time to carry on carrying on with our biggest artist yet: the all star, fast car, funk fuelled Jamiroquai. However, it's business as usual and the winning formula stays the same - a fluid journey through the twilight hours where your favourite artists let you in on their innermost aural secrets.

So what we have here is a mix that betrays the Jamiroquai roots; a weekender veteran's delight, if you like. You can almost hear the rustle of the plastic sandals. With the inclusion of Marvin's pointed alimony payment to his erstwhile wife (hence the title), the mood rises and falls throughout the mix. A pair of covers amply illustrate the point: Rufus & Chaka's rollicking rendition of "Once You Get Started", followed later by Senor Feliciano's peerless reading of the Mamas & Papas' California Dreamin', a perfectly wistful interlude. There's disco (in the form of Kleer and Dexter Wansel), jazz (the mellifluous Ramsey Lewis), there's soul aplenty (Leon Ware and Pointer Sisters), there's a soundtrack (Lalo Schifrin) and there's love, love, love, baby (that's Pretty Baby, the contrapuntal guitar and bass provided by none other than Chic).

And there's the anthemic Stay Free, one of the finest of many great Ashford & Simpson productions and a perfect end to anything, never mind a CD. So there you have it: nigh on 80 minutes of strings, soul and songs served up Jamiroquai-style with care and love and not a hat in sight (well, maybe one).
