release description

Who Needs Love is a sincere soul record bursting with jazz, rare groove and funk melodies. Incognito are always evolving and growing which was exactly what Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick set out to do when he formed the collective. Rather than focusing on individual accomplishments as musicians, Incognito treasures collaborating and they bring together esteemed musicians from all backgrounds. Who Needs Love includes Brazilian vocalist Ed Motta and British rocker Paul Weller of the Jam joining up with Incognito veterans like vocalists Kelli Sae and Joy Rose. Though the crew is often recognized as the leaders of the "acid jazz" movement of the 1990s, Incognito draws from all genres. Echoes of disco, Brazilian sounds and house are stamped on songs like "Cada Dia (Day by Day)" and "Morning Sun." The groovy group injects hope and positivity into the music scene by crossing boundaries and staying true to their vision.
