release description
Wax Poetic captures the complex rhythms and unique cultural collisions of life in New York City. Ilhan Ersahin, the accomplished jazz musician and owner of the East Village hotspot nublu, leads the collective inviting an array of party guests to the mic. On nublu sessions, vocals are supplied by N'Dea Davenport (formerly of the Brand New Heavies), Norah Jones on the sexy, slinky torch song "Tell Me," dub mastermind U-Roy and Gotham poet Saul Williams. The Los Angeles Times calls Wax Poetic's debut album "a vivid blend, weaving Brazilian and Arabic elements in a variety of atmospheric textures."
