While creating Discovery, Daft Punk started to fantasize about connecting images to futuristic disco music. The creative French producers reached out to their childhood idol Leiji Matsumoto, a Japanese comic book animator. Interstella 5555 mixes the group's infectious techno-flavored house songs with a gorgeous and intensely graphic sci-fi storyline. The DVD features extras like biographies of Daft Punk and Matsumoto along with other drool-worthy animation features.
