Daniele Luppi is an Italian composer who is obsessed with his country's films from the 1960s and 1970s, particularly the dramatic and fun soundtracks created by Ennio Morricone and Nina Rota. Luppi's love of the swinging jazz songs from that era lead him to discover that many talented musicians moonlighted, working on both cinematic music and mainstream pop. An Italian Story is Luppi's take on the music that thrilled him as a child and he lovingly gathered some of the original members of the instrumental group Marc4 to create his dream soundtrack.
