release description

Since the first release of "Stars" in 2000 JIVA has been gaining worldwide acclaim. Hailing from Atlanta they are the final piece in what ATL "soulheads" called "The Holy Trinity of Soul" namely India.Arie, Donnie and JIVA. In fact it was JIVA founder and leader Khari Simmons who introduced Giant Step President Maurice Bernstein to India.Arie and Donnie. When Khari hasn't been working on forthcoming JIVA full length "SUN & MOON", he is on the road as India's trusty bass player along with JIVA member Forrest Robinson on drums for Arie. In 2002, Giant Step Records released JIVA's THE LOVE EP that clearly illustrated their wide array of musical wisdom and skill. Frequently compared to Sergio Mendes BRASIL 66, JIVA has a bossa driven sophisticated sound that is rarely heard in modern dance music.

The new release of STARS with I REALIZED as a B side; includes extraordinary remixes, the Latin percussive-tinged EOL (Elements Of Life) Mix of STARS courtesy of LOUIE VEGA from MASTERS AT WORK. An extended, soulful four-to-the-floor mix of I REALIZED, as is theTwilight Bossa Mix of the same track, which finally gets a vinyl release.
