Pioneers of a warm dubby electronic sound, Massive Attack put Bristol on the musical map. The group formed in 1987 and went on to create chill-out classics like "Protection," a song that featured the siren sounds of Tracey Thorn from Everything But The Girl. Following their glitchy and dark album 100th Window comes an original score for a film by Luc Besson. Besson, known for films like "The Professional" and "The Fifth Element," approached the group personally and commissioned them to created instrumental pieces to accompany the film that stars Jet Li, Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins. The soundtrack contains fast pace paranoid tracks to coincide with gladiator style fight scenes as well as string-filled melodies that reflect Danny's melancholy sadness. The project opens another door to the always-morphing Massive crew.
