release description

In the late night hours, life looks different. Though the sky is darker, the moon's glow makes objects sparkle in a special way. After Hours, Rahsaan Patterson's third album, finds the singer emerging from the shadows of twilight more confident and strong than before. The church-trained musician sang from his heart on his recent record Love in Stereo but his latest set finds him experimenting with funk, jazz and hip-hop sonics. An accomplished songwriter, Patterson's penned hits for Jody Watley, Brandy and Chico Debarge but he is bringing the focus back to his own work with After Hours. Organic soul never sounded so dark and inviting. The Baltimore Sun said it perfectly when they declared "When a Rahsaan Patterson album drops, you can bet your last dollar that it's going to be among the best R&B releases out that year, an inspired set of tunes ablaze with attitude and feeling."
