The world-renowned DJ Mark Farina grew up in Chicago listening to house music on the radio, constantly fed with the best of the early house classics and having the legendary Derrick Carter as a mentor. His legendary 'Mushroom Jazz' compilation series is on its 5th volume due to the sheer talent and excellent ear of Farina. Farina is a skilled and experienced DJ and he ran the successful Mushroom Jazz parties in San Francisco that have become the stuff of lore. His sound fuses the West Coast’s jazzy, organic funk with the heavier, grittier urban sounds of early house and the blend is now unmistakable as Farina’s trademark sound.
