release description

The thirteenth year is a charm for Jay Kay and his funk outfit Jamiroquai. 'Dynamite' is their sixth album and it shows that the U.K. group is relentless when it comes to delivering powerful grooves. Rising to fame during the acid jazz era, Jamiroquai developed with the times musically and they remain socially conscious with messages burning through their sci-fi funk.

The new album was first recorded live with each cut digitally altered afterwards to gain the strongest effect. The first single "Feels Just Like it Should" is a space-age rock tune that echoes with the urgency of Jimi Hendrix and Prince. "Seven Days in Sunny June" is a catchy track that's full of hope, twinkling like shiny stars in a dark night sky. "Dynamite" possesses a perfectly danceable disco groove, a trademark Jamiroquai sound if ever there was one.

"as Jay Kay croons about the blissful sensations that go along with being in love, true fans will realize that though the sound is a little different, no one else could feel this kind of funk except Jay Kay and his grooving cohorts." — Billboard
