release description

Not content with this hectic schedule Ernesto has also been busily working away in his own studio and has now completed a most extraordinary and unexpected album. Presented to Exceptional Records as a finished album, Jonatan had previously hinted at its contents only by saying it was something he had been working on in between his many other projects.

The album has turned out to be a jaw-dropping, genre-bending world away from the Beanfield/Plej/Swell Session musical axis and is a journey into a 21st century melting pot where the main ingredient is unpredictably blues but mixed with a measure of electronica and a good pinch of song writing finesse.

His recent 7” EP “Devil’s Gotta Run," the first to be taken from the album, received glowing reviews in the press and radio support from the likes of XFM’s Nick Luscombe et al.

Ernesto's ground-breaking album 'A New Blues' is just that, a 11 track introduction to a new way of recording and performing an infectious and highly contemporary form of blues.

"'A New Blues' is crammed full of top notch songs, fearless experimentalism, delicate musicianship and is conveyed with a voice full of soul and powerful emotion. It's on an album that shouldn't be overlooked and should be on everyone's "best of" at the end of the year." — Straight No Chaser

"Mysterious one -name vocalist Ernesto dares to go where his album title points, where Moby claimed to go years ago but failed; into a new form of the blues for the 21st Century." — XLR8R magazine's Top Ten Album Picks
