release description

'We Are Povo' skillfully bridges the gap between the jazz lounge and the dance club with moody vocal compositions, deep modal tracks and storming up-tempo jazz dancefloor burners, at times with instrumental and vocal hooks memorable enough to cross over into pop.

Complementing the foundation established by Lars Vissing and Anders Peter Andreasen, is an all-star lineup of supporting talent. 'We Are Povo' features notable guest appearances by legendary jazz drummer Ed Thigpen (Oscar Peterson Trio), and Danish heavyweights Heine Hansen (Alex Riel Trio) on piano, and Trine-Lise Væring and Katrine Madsen on vocals, among others.

After over a year in the studio, Povo are now finally ready with their debut album We Are Povo, and they want to introduce themselves to you. Now be nice and shake hands…and hips!
